These PALL rings inside of the air separator provide enough surface area to remove not only the air bubbles but also the micro-bubbles. Independent 3 rd party tests have shown air bubble removal down to 18 microns. The extra surface area provided by the PALL rings also remove and separate solid particles from the flow. The dirt can then be removed through a blowdown valve. This high efficiency cleaning of air and dirt simply cannot be achieved by using a standard, low surface area, air separator with strainer.
