Are You Using Bronze Headers on Copper-Finned Domestic & Process Hot Water Heating Applications?

In a domestic or process hot water heating application, be sure to install or specify a unit with “non-ferrous” bronze headers. This ensures that you have an all “non-ferrous” waterway. Using cast iron, glass-lined headers on a domestic or process hot water heating application is a risk and could lead to premature heat exchanger failure and replacement. You most likely wouldn’t use cast iron, glass-lined pipe on these applications. Raypak type WH units come standard with bronze headers, which is the right choice for these projects. At Heat Transfer Sales, we want to make sure always you have the best equipment for your application.

Above: Raypak type WH units come standard with bronze headers. The heat

exchanger can also be cleaned and inspected with its service-friendly design.

Pump Misapplication: A cast-iron pump was installed on this domestic

water heating system causing electrolysis and oxidation.

A new Taco all bronze inline pump was the right fit for this application.
